Optimizing Crew Research Management (CRM) in the COVID-19 pandemic

Crew Research Management (CRM) is a widely-implemented strategy in the aviation community as a training countermeasure to human error. Airlines have invested considerable resources to develop CRM programs, in many varied ways and with a multiplicity of designs. The Covid-19 pandemic has caused significant disruptions in air operations and human resources. In this paper, the negative impacts of the pandemic on all important factors of the CRM process are analyzed and based on the experiences of air operators, measures are proposed to optimize the Flight Crew Management in difficult conditions.
